Rawz: The first track me and Tiece wrote together!

I was working on a youth music project with Rodney P and Urban Monk. We had a few hours downtime in the studio and I had a verse written to the beat, which Urban had given to me a few days before.

The track felt like it could be something special, and I liked my verse on it so I was keen to record. I knew if I got Tiece on the track she would kill it so I called her up and thankfully she was about. A little while later I met her nearby an we headed to the studio. When she heard my verse she started writing straight away and was in the booth within about 10 minutes recording the hook. What you hear on the track is that take. I wrote and recorded my second verse in that session too.

The third verse got penned that night and we recorded it the following day. I can remember being gassed about Rodney and Urban’s reactions to the track, and some of the guidance I got from them about the structure and delivery of my verses has stuck with me ever since.

This is 100% my favourite track to perform live, any of you that have been to our shows know that we love to end our set with this one and put that warm fuzziness in the air!

I saw Haress support Godspeed in Coventry over the weekend and haven't been able to stop myself thinking about their set.
